Glossary
The words of sales pipelines, quotes and self-hosted software, explained simply.
- AGPL-3.0
- The GNU Affero General Public License: a free software licence that also asks whoever offers a modified version over a network to share its source with those users.
- Model Context Protocol (MCP)
- An open standard for connecting AI applications such as Claude or ChatGPT to external systems, so they can read data and use tools on your behalf.
- Row-level security
- A database feature that restricts which rows a role can read or change, whatever the query says. What keeps one company’s records from another’s on a shared install.
- Sales pipeline
- The deals you’re working on, laid out by stage, from first contact to won or lost: what’s open, where each one stands, and what happens next.
- Sales quote
- A written offer stating what you’d sell, at what price and until when. What it contains, and how it differs from an invoice.
- Weighted pipeline
- The value of your open deals, each multiplied by its chance of closing: a more sober figure for planning than the raw total.
