Sales pipeline
The deals you’re working on, laid out by stage, from first contact to won or lost: what’s open, where each one stands, and what happens next.
A sales pipeline is the set of deals you’re working on right now, laid out by stage, from first contact to won or lost. It answers three questions at a glance: what’s open, where does each deal stand, and what happens next.
Each stage should be defined by something the buyer did, such as answering or asking for a price, so that everyone on the team reads it the same way. Most small teams need five or six stages. We wrote about how to set them up.
In Soldlyne, the pipeline is a board with one column per stage, a board per project, and alerts for deals stuck for 14 days or with no next step. Its total is often read together with its weighted value.
