What it costs, and how to run it

We’d rather say this plainly than print a table. Self-hosting is free software. Hosted plans don’t exist yet.

Which one is for you

Run it yourself if

  • You want the data on your own infrastructure or under your own contracts
  • Someone on your team will own updates and backups
  • You want to change the code

Ask for a hosted workspace if

  • You’d rather not look after a server
  • Frankfurt, on American-owned providers, suits you
  • You accept that plans will arrive later, and that we’ll tell you first

Questions

What does self-hosting really cost?

Your host’s bill and someone’s time. Soldlyne is made for Vercel and Neon, and its database can sleep when nobody needs it; check their current prices, and note that Vercel’s Hobby plan limits how often crons run.

Will the hosted edition be free?

We don’t know yet, and we won’t guess here. When plans are set, this page will state them.

Do I have to publish my changes?

Only if you offer a modified version to others over a network: then AGPL-3.0 asks you to publish those changes under the same license. Changing it for your own company’s use doesn’t.
